Space Works Consulting have been busy...

Hello and welcome to the first post of Space Works Consulting's shiny new blog!

We've been working very hard recently to design a new website, and it is almost ready. But to whet your appetites we thought we'd share with you what we have been up to in the past few months.

Over the summer, Space Works Consulting wrote an article for the Ontario Association of Architects Perspectives Magazine, and it was published online and in print (for those Canadian followers!) earlier this month.

We approached the issue title of "Why are some buildings so ugly" from what we consider to be a person-centric approach to building aesthetics, looking at the relationship between buildings and people, architects and users, and broader social influences.

Please have a read here (page 15) and let us know what you think, we welcome comments!

Also in the last month, Space Works Consulting gave a presentation at the Building Centre's Feeling Good 4 Seminar series, entitled ‘Practical Applications of Environmental Psychology: The Need for Evidence-Based Knowledge to Improve the Quality of our Built Environment and Interiors'. We looked at the issue of well-being from an Environmental Psychology perspective, and focused on office layout as a way of introducing delegates to some of the key theories we use in our consultancy work.

If you'd like to find out more about what we were talking about, a video of the presentation is below! Again, we'd love some feedback so please get in touch.

Watch this space for updates on our website!

Have a lovely week,

Sarah.
